Pre-Spring 1968: Prizes and Posture

In January 1968, the campus celebrated Barnard’s success on television’s College Bowl, a prestigious, academic quiz competition. Barnard’s team retired as five-time undefeated champions—the first all-women’s team to do so.

At least through 1965, Freshmen competed in the annual “Posture contest.” The Physical Education Department's focus on proper body movement culminated in the freshman "Posture Contest" held in January. A panel of professors and staff picked the freshman with the best form.
